"Stud" the musical
Surrey Dance Music is proud to announce the release of their new musical, "Stud" to amateurs.
A story of alien abduction and Miss Fothersgill's search for a man. The world premiere production took place at the Ben Travers Theatre at Charterhouse in October 2007.
"Studies In Tap"
Our newest release (January 2011) is "Studies In Tap", an exciting new selection of pieces to liven up your tap classes. "Studies In Tap" is divided into seven sections (Warm-Ups, Riffs & Clips, Pick-Ups, Wings, Timesteps, Arm Routines and Rhythm & Tap) and has several examples within each section with differing levels of maturity and complexity to reflect the different grades. Generally aimed at the middle grades, we've included a jazz waltz, timesteps with differing lengths of tacet and pieces with style changes. Several pieces (the timesteps, most notably) could be used to for routines, and there are some empty rhythmical pieces where the taps need to be heard, hard-driving, punchy, in-your-face pieces for those difficult exercises which need support and encouragement, and pieces with a relaxing feel to calm even the most stressful of exercises.
"Remembering the 1980s"
Also released recently (December 2010) was "Remembering the 1980s", a new release of old demo tracks made by the duo, Tac-Tix. Back in the 1980s, Tac-Tix were playing their local pubs, and functions throughout the South of England. They made several demo tapes (cassettes, they were in those days) and, although the tapes haven't survived as well as could have been hoped, the songs really invoke the spirit of the age, and if you ever saw Tac-Tix perform, then this should bring back a few happy memories!
