Licence
Surrey Dance Music may at its sole discretion grant a performing licence to organisations wishing to perform "STUD". Such a grant forms a binding contract between Surrey Dance Music and the organisation. Applications must be submitted on the Performance Application Form received with the Perusal Materials. Rehearsals may not start until receipt by the producing organisation of an approved application. Note that producing "STUD" without being in possession of a Licence to Perform will place you in contravention of the Copyright Act and could render you liable to prosecution.
Perusal Material
Script, Vocal Score, Piano/Conductor's score and Performance Application Form will be available for perusal purposes. The perusal material must be returned in mint condition within three weeks of the date on the packaging.

Production Details
Duration - 120 minutes in two acts. One set.
Rental
Thirty copies of the script with vocal score and one copy of the piano/conductor's score will be available to rent at GBP50.00 per two months. Additional scripts with vocal scores are available to rent at GBP5.00 per two months. Payment is due at the time of submission of a Performance Application Form.
A set of Band Parts (piano, bass, drums, guitar) will be available for rent at GBP35.00 per two months. Payment is due in advance.
All materials must be returned with any markings erased within two weeks of the date of the final performance.
Requirements
In accordance with the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, due authorship credit must be given on all programmes, printing and advertising for the musical.
We suggest the wordings "Book and Lyrics by Christina Buchanan, Music by Bob Good" and "An amateur production in association with Surrey Dance Music".
Rights / Restrictions
Like any musical, "STUD" is protected by copyright laws and conventions. It is an infringement of copyright law to give a performance or reading of the whole or any excerpt without the prior consent of the authors. It is also a violation of copyright law to copy part or all by any means, including typewriter, photocopier, videotape or computer.
We are sometimes required to restrict availability. We will be happy to advise you of availability in your area. Please check before scheduling a production.
The musical will be presented as it appears in its published form and the authors' intent will be respected in production. No changes, interpolations or deletions in the text, lyrics, music or title shall be made for the purpose of production. This includes updating the time and place setting of the musical.
The details listed on this page are for live stage productions by amateur groups with maximum seating capacities of 500. Special arrangements must be made by professional groups, by amateur groups with larger seating capacities, for television and radio broadcasting and for any other use. Please note that productions may not be video taped without prior arrangement.
Royalties
Royalties compensate authors and owners for the use of their works and are applicable to all performances before an audience, whether or not admission is charged. Royalties will be calculated at 7.5% of Total Box Office, with a minimum fee GBP25.00 per performance. Payment of the minimum fee is due with your Performance Application, with any balance becoming due 14 days after the date of the final performance.
